The Piranha Plant Family Tree

Continuing with the enemies in Paper Mario Darkness in Time, here we got an old classic: the Piranha Plants.

Piranha Plants, as you would know from Paper Mario games, specialize in strong attacks and status attacks. Each Piranha Plants have a different status attack:

Piranha Plant (the red and white plant) doesn't have any status attacks.
Putrid Piranha (the yellow and red plant) have a poison breath that can poison.
Frost Piranha (the blue and white plant) have a frost breath that can freeze.
Fire Piranha (the dark red and orange plant) have a flame breath that can burn.
Killer Piranha (the dark yellow plant) have ALL of the status attacks that the other plants use.

Here are their tattles:

Piranha Plant:
“That’s a Piranha Plant, a giant plant that bites anything they see. They’re quite tough. Max HP is 7, Attack is 4, and Defense is 0. As I said before, Piranha Plants can bite you. Their bite is quite powerful, so guard well. They always face their teeth upward, meaning you can’t jump on them.”

Putrid Piranha:
"That's a Putrid Piranha, a rather poisonous Piranha Plant. Most Putrid Piranhas lives in tropical locations, but apparently they also live in the Foggy Fields. Max HP is 12, Attack is 6, and Defense is 0. They can bite us like a regular Piranha Plant, but they can also exhale a poisonous breath that can poison us. Definitely watch out for these plants."

Frost Piranha:
"That's a Frost Piranha, a Piranha Plant that thrives in cold temperatures. Max HP is 15, Attack is 8, and Defense is 0. Like the Putrid Piranha, this plant can exhale its breath at us. Its breath is so cold that you'll freeze if it touches you, so guard well."

Fire Piranha:
"That's a Fire Piranha, a strange Piranha Plant native to the Hidden Land. Some say that the Fire Piranha is the earliest form of the modern Venus Fly Traps. Max HP is 18, Attack is 10, and Defense is 0. This Piranha Plant is dangerous because it can breath fire on us. If it does that, then we'll get burned unless we guard against it. The Hidden Land does have some really strange creatures, huh."

Killer Piranha:
"That's a Killer Piranha, a dangerous Piranha Plant that could kill an unlimited number of people in just a short time. That's the reason why these things were sealed in the Pit of 100 Trials. Max HP is 25, Attack is 14, Defense is 0. The Killer Piranha is dangerous because it can exhale ANY status breathes at us. It can Poison, Freeze, AND Burn us. Make sure to have powerful attacks to get rid of them quickly, unless you don't mind getting KILLED by these killers!"
