The Darkragons

Description

Random post is, once again, random.

Anyway, this relates to :iconthespidermanager:'s Paper Mario Celestial Legends project. You see, back when he was still working on the story, I was looking through his other works, specifically his old version of his Wrath of the Ztar King project (which is now getting revamped). From there, I got an idea on somehow implementing one of these Ztar enemies in Celestial Legends. I have actually talked to Brian about this via notes, and I feel that it may have inspired a post-game chapter (which is foreshadowed at the end of the main story, though it's unknown if he'll get to it), but I'm not too sure about that. However, no offense Brian, but that was not what I originally had in mind. My idea was just having these Ztar enemies fought in the main story, as further proof that the Infinity Empire are using literal Ztar energy (Darkron, for those uninformed), while also foreshadowing the Ztar's rise to power (which was admitting unintended as I only knew that the empire was using the energy, not the fact that the Ztars would actually return).

Anyway, this is what spawned from my idea: the Darkragons.

My idea was that while researching the Hollow Crystals, the Infinity Empire would have discovered dark beings within the crystals, the Ztars. From their, they'd use their advanced technology to bring the Ztars out of their containment and have them work alongside them. The Zragons, one of the pets to the Ztars, are one such being, and my idea was that these new 'Darkragons' would be fightable in Celestial Legends.

Since he never posted art on them or talked about them, obviously that means the idea wasn't used, but seeing him post the Zragons for his revamp WotZK project made me want to talk about it. As I said, this is nothing more than a random post; complete non-canon.

Anyway, here are their 'scans' for if they did appear in the story. Just know that the Darkragons would be found in the Infinity Prison (ironically the same place that the true nature of Darkron is revealed), the Infiragons in the Infinity Castle, and the Necragons in the Tower of Beginnings.

CREATURE: Darkragon. A Zragon that was formerly one of the Ztar’s pets. Their essence remained in Hollow Crystals until they were brought out by the Infinity Empire’s technology. As a result, they now work for the Infinity Empire.
STATS: HP 25/ATK 12/DEF 0
ATTACKS: Dark Claw/Hollow Bite/Darkron Breath
ANALYSIS: Darkragons’ two basic attacks are their bite and claws. Their claw attack is weaker, but is harder to guard against. Their Darkron Breath will assault all targets and inflict Cancel on them. Exceed caution when dealing with these beasts.

CREATURE: Infiragon. A Darkragon that’s equipped with armor by the Infinity Empire. The armor is made out of Hollow Crystals, which enhance their strength greatly.
STATS: HP 40/ATK 20/DEF 2
ATTACKS: Dark Claw/Hollow Bite/Darkron Breath/Infinity Beam
ANALYSIS: Infiragons’ bite can now inflict Cancel on a single target. Their Dark Claw and Darkron Breath remain unchanged except for the increased power. Infiragons does have a new attack called Infinity Beam. The attack, being amplified by the Hollow Crystal armor, is set to inflict Instant Death on all targets. Guarding will decrease the chance of Instant Death greatly. Plus, the Infinity Beam requires charging before it can be used. Use this time to prepare for the attack.

CREATURE: Necragon. A Darkragon trained by the Infinity Empire to become one of the strongest creatures in the Empire. Scans, however, show that their full power comes from the Necrids still inside them. Royalty ratings to the Infinity Empire remain questionable as a result.
STATS: HP 65/ATK 35/DEF 5 (location: Tower of Beginnings)
ATTACKS: Hollow Claw/Necro Bite/Necrid Breath/Darkron Tail/Infinity Beam
ANALYSIS: Their bite, claws, and breath has been enhanced to inflict both Cancel and Anti-Flower. The added power also makes those attacks deadly. Their tail armor is enhanced to be able to be used as a weapon, able to deal great damage and also inflict Cancel and Anti-Flower. Their Infinity Beam is unchanged except that guarding will only decrease the chance of Instant Death slightly. Do not take these foes lightly, lest victory becomes unlikely.

... Pretty tough, wouldn't you say?

By the way, the Darkragons were the only ones I thought of that involved this idea. But typing this description made me realize that this had potential for more Ztar enemies working under the Infinity Empire (at least until the events of the Tower of Beginnings). So if you want to see more Ztar beings as Infinity soldiers, I might make more of them (especially with Brian redesigning them in his revamp). Just keep in mind that this is all completely non-canon to the actual Celestial Legends story: this is just a random idea of mine.

Tell me in the comments what you think and don't steal. The Zragons and Infinity Empire belong to :iconthespidermanager:, while these Darkragon concepts belong to me.
